4. ledna ráno vykouknu ven a vidím horu. Třikrát vyšší než můj stěžeň a velká jako menší stadion. Kolem dalších 7 ker. Stalo se tak na 51 stupni, tedy dříve, než jsem očekával a od té doby ledu překvapivě mnoho. I malým kusům se samozřejmě musím vyhýbat. Plavba v noci je nemožná, proto po dobu spánku drifuji. Posádka je v dobré pohodě, k čemuž přispívají denní radosti, jako hraní s plachtami a na kytaru, pozorování ptáků a ledovců, práce na lodi, četba, jídlo a textové zprávy. Díky za ně.

I woke up on January the 4th and I saw a mountain 3 times higher than my mast and as large as the small stadium. 7 more icebergs around. There is more ice than expected since then and even the small pieces like barge bits and ... must be avoided. Night sailing impossible I ... to sleep. The crew is in good spirits thanks to all pleasures like playing with the sails and the guitar, birds and ice watching, working on the boat, reading, food and text messages. Thanks for that.
